Tidal Wave of Time (Post 1 of Today)

I realised that on the 1st of January I didn't actually write a poem, it was an introduction to what I'd been doing for the year.  Recently I thought that on the 1st this year, I would write a conclusion ish ... thing. Mmm details.
But this leaves me 2 poem short of the 365 mark (correct me if I'm wrong)
Though I will have posted on here everyday, I still think I'd like to say I wrote a poem for everyday of the year. Which means I need 2 extra poems.
So today, mainly because I have time on my hands (and avoiding a philosophy essay) I thought I would post 3 mini ones.
Wahh long introduction, sorry.

It's coming
no longer lurking
no longer stalling
but running
sprinting
faster
and faster
faster still
nearly knocking
me straight off
my feet.

The future
weeks passing like days
what if right now
is soon to become a haze?
I'm trying to enjoy
while I can
but the future is coming
time is taking it's stand.

Rhyming Words Association (RWA)

Most of my poems have been quite a similar style the past few days so thought I would try and do something different. Only flaw in this, I don't know how! I'm not really an expert in different forms of poetry...

Break
away
take
(seize)
the day
sunshine
sky
time
clock
tick tock
hand
stand
feet
street
grey
day
break
away.

Pretty much had the idea as I wrote, one word then what reminds me of that word and tried to make it rhyme. If that doesn't make sense just ask in a comment and I'll try and explain it better :')

Paradise of Dreams

Paradise in dreams
simple pleasure
while asleep

But

Let the best of time
shine
through life
please
never let me forget
to create memories

In order so the
paradise of dreams
doesn't become a want
of reality.

Doing Nothing in the Here and Now.

Hurray for internet access ^.^ so our computer was nearly hacked - scary shit. Anyway I've had this idea for a poem for a couple of days now. Not sure how to write it well (as ever) but I try. Pretty much just trying to say that it's nice when you can do nothing with someone and still enjoy yourself.

When we have time
to do nothing
we have all the time
we need
to breathe
relax
and appreciate
not just little things
but everything.

For our eyes open
to look
and our ears
to listen
rather than stare
blindly forward
and waiting
for life to begin.

This is what happened yesterday -.-

Hence why there was no blog. However, I can assure I did write one, I just wasn't able to post it.

Note the date of the word document..... Anyways here is yesterday's poem.

Old Man Time

Time drags it feet
shuffling along the pavement
painfully slowly
like an old man
lost in the memories
of decades gone by
it stops to tie its laces
before continuing
no hurry to get anywhere
not today.

Rhyme

Rhyming is words
a simple trick
something with a little practise
can become pretty slick
like a magician
all show and no tell
audience just watching
under a spell.

But what about meaning?
and gaining a feeling?
That's more
much more
than slight of hand
smoke & a mirror.
What about having
something clearer?

Making someone smile
cry
laugh
frown
Something they've read
being worthy their while.

I make no promises
to make everything rhyme
but I hope what you're reading
is worth your time.

Like a Grain of Sand

It's only the 8th blog and I am already struggling to write a poem so you'll have to forgive me if this is terrible or doesn't make much sense >.<

Inspiration is easy to get
harder to keep
like holding sand,
it can't help but trickle
right through your fingers,
until nothing is left
apart from the mere grains.

What once was a mighty rock
has been worn away
slowly but surely
in those mere grains.

But rocks don't have to worry about
work
the future
love
friends
or the planet.
They are the planet.

What wears them away
is simply just water.
And even when they are reduced
a fraction of what they once were
they end up on a beach.

Perhaps we can allow
our worries
our stress
sliding away like sand in an hourglass
to become more peaceful
like the sand lying on the beach.
