From one stranger to another
it flashes in a gaze
just for a second
then forgotten in the next.
Looked at once
after walking in to a room
but not really seen.
It can be
Brutal
Indifferent
Perhaps a curl
of the lips
in a snarl
or a smile.
Or
just no reaction at all.
Perhaps
it's all in my head.
