The Selfish Shellfish

He focuses on himself
because he's the selfish shellfish 
he clamps down 
on only the things that revolve around 
him 
and only himself


Does this effect me?
What do I want the most? 
Are questions he thinks 
while swimming in the sea 
would this give me a good reason
to flock amongst others and boast?

For the selfish shellfish 
there is no else 
for his world is his shell
and his shell is his world. 

The Peach to the Prune

The peach to the prune
the magnificent to the ruin 
the boy to the man 
and the girl to the gran.


We see the youth gain age
which can turn to rage 
maybe not quite wisdom
I wonder, what will I become?


From the petals of innocence 
with slow shuffling reluctance 
we gain more life, grow old 
and what comes exactly after that?


Well, 
it's a secret none of us have been told. 

The Warmth of a Stranger

I lean in to you 
back pressed
nearly every part
touching, but
not so close
that I can feel your heart
and despite the fact
that you're a stranger
I feel no danger 
actually, 
quite the opposite.


Wanting to stay
right here 
and have nothing 
in the way 
of the two of us 
but I move
you leave
as does
your warmth
and I'm left
with the taste
of what could of been
running through 
my veins. 

The Fourth Face

She stares

she glares

she wonders

she worries

she looks in the mirror

looks at herself

tries to ignore

the flaws

and thoughts stretch

to around the world

and wonders

where is her place

when the doors are opened

she tries to find

the right face.

This is her,

this is her everyday.
