Pass On the Luggage of Growing Up

The age of innocence 
has gone
and what's coming next
it feels, almost wrong


I'll be passed responsibility
and let go of recklessness 
and end up trudging 
under its weight 


Not so much the worries of age
but the worries
of what comes
as I accumulate more of it
and what I have to give up. 

New Chapter

Gaining a year,
every year
will become 
tiresome 
scary
a stone plummeting 
through the system
making you
feel heavy


but


for now
it means a change
for the better,
making life speed
not drag
not so much the closing
of a book
but the beginning
of a new chapter.
