Pass me a spade
then let me dig deep
in to the ground
to try and find roots
of meaning.
Trying to brush off
the shallow dirt
of status and fashion
let me dig deeper
to try and find the heart
the brain
what allows the tree to stand
rather than collapse
on a bad day.
